The ultimate chill session for body and soul.  A combination of music composed by Annie together with some Debussy and Beethoven and a yoga workshop with Samantha Coe. Sublime combination folks.

The yoga will be aimed at freeing all tension from the whole of your body, listening to your body and taking care and enjoying the transitions of life and all it throws at us.  Expect accessible yoga for experts and newbies alike. Healing pranayama and a blissful yoga relaxation.

For those of you that don’t know me and my yoga;. here is a brief introduction.  My first job was in arts marketing for Royal Northern Sinfonia and I have a lifelong love of music.  I teach functional yoga for people just as they are.  The aim of my yoga is to help you to the build functional strength that our bodies need and to come back to a state of peace within and a ground base for your nervous system.  I use yoga to change emotional state to feel better afterwards, more confident, less anxious, free, so you can really let go and rest.  Learning to breathe well and to relax and to live well. My classes are fun , warm and are tailored to people’s needs.  I teach yoga in a variety of settings and to a variety of people; my open classes at St Mary’s heritage Centre, my work based yoga for companies, yoga in hospitals, to people from all ages, running group yoga, chair and individual yoga sessions.

I love Annie’s playing. She is a soloist, a concert pianist , a sensitive accompanist, a teacher and promoter of all things piano related.  Annie brings vitality and peace to her music and has a boundless interested in taking performances out of the concert hall and into unique spaces and contexts – hence semibreve yoga was formed.  The semibreve, 4 beats, a hold, a pause,  a long exhale, Om perhaps.   Annie has performed in places such as The Peckham Rye Multi Story Car Park (!) and clubs and pubs around the region. She studied in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Mikhail Kazakevich and Christine Croshaw.

Christmas Yoga Party, Pot-Luck Supper and Chill Night

Calling all my yogis (and wannabe yogis welcome too!) on Wednesday 5th December 6.45pm – 9.15pm at the stunning St Mary’s Heritage Centre its Yoga Christmas Party time at St Mary’s Heritage Centre. Honestly one of the most beautiful and uplifting place you could practice yoga.

I have booked St Mary’s for an extra hour for us  and it is looking beautiful in the winter festive light.

I  have a seasonally inspired yoga class, followed by a chill out yoga nidra (long blissful relaxation) and then a shared pot luck supper (you have some lovely things planned I hear!)  Its a nice opportunity chat to all the people you have shared the term’s yoga experience with and to meet and welcome any new people and welcome back old hands and friends.

So do please come along  (if you don’t get a chance to bring anything for the pot luck supper – come anyway, we will welcome you and sure we will have enough to share!) So  an extra special yoga session to end our Autumn block of classes.  A chance to join us too if you are thinking of coming for the new term which starts January 16th 2pm – 3.15pm and 6.45pm – 8.15pm are the usual class times.

Additional Yoga Class in Gosforth tonight 11th December 2018

Need a pick me up! Extra yoga class tonight – you might be feeling like you could do with it.  Feel free to come along as a drop – in.   I am covering Alan Ross’s lovely yoga class at Trinity Methodist Church tonight at 6.30-8pm.  Relax and release any built up tension, reconnect to your fluidity.

Yoga at St Mary’s Starts Next week

Here are the joining instructions for St Mary’s.  Let me know if you are coming along.

I hope you are looking forward to our yoga classes starting on Wednesday 21st of September at the stunning and peaceful St Mary’s Heritage Centre.  It will be such a special place to practice yoga. Heated floor, great views and a super peaceful vibe.  

Yoga with Samantha Coe

7 – 8.30pm Wednesdays

Dates: 21st September, October 19th, November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd

(Please make a note of the dates, as we moved venue so quickly I could only get these dates this term.  Great news from January we have the venue every week for the 10 week block and I am starting an additional 2pm class.  Booking is open for these classes now.  Tell your friends.)

Parking and Transport:

St Mary’s has free parking directly outside. 

It’s a 10 minute walk from Gateshead Metro and accessible from the Quaylink Bus Service.

Class structure and timing:

Feel free to come straight from work, the building will be open.  

There will be a tea trolley from 6.30pm and I will be there.  You can come early to meditate, rest, catch up with your friends old and or new.  Or ask me any yoga questions. There are nice toilets and St Mary’s is a beautiful place to be.

Don’t eat a lot before your yoga class as yoga is best done empty so you can move with ease.  

The general structure of the class is: time to settle and arrive and notice yourself, breathing pranayama, warming up and easing tension, asana practice, relaxation and or meditation.  We will work on your strength, your posture, your flexibility, giving you a chance in the week to rest well, to release tension and learning techniques to improve your wellbeing.

What to bring and wear:

Wear something really comfortable that you can move easily in.  I wear leggings, a long vest, a t-shirt and a long sleeved layer.  Bring and wear layers so you are not ever too hot or too cold.  Bring your yoga mat, a blanket, blocks and a belt and an eye bag if you have one.  I always have a few spares to get you started.

Yoga Classes Start again this Week at Gateshead Old Town Hall

Here are the practical details to help you find us, if you are new to our class.

Firstly know we welcome beginners and the class is suitable for experienced yogis and those new to yoga.

Please bring a mat – I have a few spare yoga mats if you need one to get your started.

Wear something stretchy and bring a blanket for the relaxation.   If you own blocks bring them please if you can.

Summer Classes and Courses Starting in September 2014

Are you missing your yoga over the summer?

I’m still teaching my daytime class at the Marriott Gosforth Park on Wednesdays at 11.00 – 12.00 over the summer (well most Wednesday just call to book your place).  You an come even if you are not a member of the leisure club and its at the bargain price of £3.50.  Its been lovely to see some faces from my other classes.

Remember to book for classes starting in September as they will get full.  To book you can contact me directly or book through the Sage Gateshead Box Office.

Both classes are fun, stress reducing, strengthening yoga. Suitable for beginners and more experienced yogis. The Wednesday evening class allows a little more time for relaxation and meditation as well as a physical practice.  Any questions just ask.
